The Master Singers of Virginia Youth Choral Program seeks a dynamic individual for a unique role: to help spearhead and develop our youth choir program. This is a part-time manager post, and a position that will kick-start our youth ensemble.

Essential duties of the role include organizing rehearsal and concert logistics and publicity for the youth choral ensemble(s).  In addition, this person will work closely with the Youth Choir Directors as well as Master Singers of Virginia’s manager to achieve the organizational vision of the Master Singer’s Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize the MSVA youth choir’s logistical operations.  Examples include organizing and recruiting parent volunteers, managing publicity, communication with members and parents, and maintaining relationships with rehearsal and performance venues.

  • Actively and passionately recruit new youth to build the ensemble(s).

  • Help develop the educational vision and short/long-range plans for our youth program.

Other Responsibilities:

This position is year-round.

  • Work closely with Youth Choir Directors to keep weekly rehearsals organized.

  • Coordinate with MSVA Manager and Treasurer as needed.

  • Track attendance of Youth ensemble members and ensure compliance with ensemble rules of conduct.

  • Build effective working relationships and communication with ensemble singers and their families by means of email, phone, and direct contact.

  • Organize and promote concerts; specific schedule TBD. Includes:

    • Assistance in creating emails, newsletters, press releases, website updates, and social media content

    • Volunteer coordination

  • Work in tandem with and attend occasional meetings of MSVA organization staff and volunteers.

  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to development as a manager.


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Experience with event planning and volunteer coordination.

  • Experience working with youth and parents of varied ages and backgrounds.



  • $1,500-$2,500 dependent upon experience and qualifications.

**This role could be combined with Associate Director position for an interested applicant.**
